LCIS has purposefully chosen to follow the English National Curriculum in the primary school and adapt it to our specific learning environment. The English National Curriculum is well recognised and has been adopted all over the world, including in numerous international schools.
To complement this primary learning, the Secondary school follows the Middle Years Programme (MYP) of the International Baccalaureat Organisation (IBO), again widely recognised across the world. For children moving from the Primary school to the Secondary school, the English national Curriculum provides a comprehensive and wide ranging foundation for future learning and is an excellent preparation for further studies within the MYP or other international curricula.
Children who have moved to new countries after leaving LCIS have been ahead or on par with their peers through our focused and compassionate yet rigorous teaching and learning.
Our Curriculum allows strong consistency, continuity and progression in the aims and objectives of teaching and allows for creativity and personalised learning. We support innovation, group work and continuous interaction in the classroom in order for our children to become independent and creative learners.
All our class teachers are qualified to work with the English National Curriculum and receive continued professional development to enable them to excel in their work.
Parents wishing to learn about the English national Curriculum in detail are advised to visit the following web resource:

IB Diploma programme at LCIS
LCIS has received the exciting news that it has successfully applied and has been accepted as a candidate school for the IB Diploma programme.
IB schools are those that share a common philosophy - a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that La Côte International School believes is vital for our studnets.
A big thank you to Mrs. Peeters-Weem and our secondary team for their outstanding work to move us quickly to this stage. LCIS aims to accept its first Diploma students in September 2013.
