The School

Riviera School is located in the heart of Montreux. At present it proposes a curriculum for children between 18 months and 12 years. At Riviera School, we understand that every child is an individual and the size of the school with it’s small class size ensures that we are able to offer the support and educational framework that each child requires.

We welcome children from the region and who have recently arrived in Switzerland. We currently have more than 15 nationalities represented at the school. Unquestionably our, multicultural approach to teaching and the richly diverse school community allow us to develop fundamental values such as respect, tolerance and responsibility. The promotion of moral, social and physical development is a key priority of the school.

Our fundamental educational values help create a stimulating environment in which our bilingual programs (proposed from the nursery school) are centred on the child as an individual. Our personalized approach guarantees that the children are taught at a level that is appropriate to their needs.

The well-balanced curriculum within the primary years ensures that the children gain a wide variety of skills and the knowledge in all areas so that they require to be able to move successfully into local schools or to continue within the private system.

Thanks to bilingual school route, children are immersed in an environment where both languages are used and practised, in alternation and according to the weekly activities. Besides the learning of an additional language, the bilingual program also allows the children to be part of, and learn about a different culture.

The Head teachers and the teachers of the school are committed to a process of continuous improvement to maintain the high quality of the education offered at the Riviera School.

To give your family maximum flexibility, according to your private and professional commitments, the school offers supervised childcare from 7:00 am till 6:00 pm every day of the week. Children may also choose to have the school lunch at midday and participate in non-curricular clubs (English, German, Karate, Information Technology and Theatrical Expression).
