Early Years Foundation Stage

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), provides children aged 3 to 5 years of age with a fantastic start to their educational life. At ISM we pride ourselves in getting to know individual children, building on their strengths and interests and supporting their learning and development.

Our school offers a wonderful environment to explore and stimulate continuous learning through a wide range of play and experiences, both indoors and outside.

The EYFS is organised into two groups, Foundation 1 and 2 each with their own experienced staff. We follow guidance from the UK for EYFS using a continuous cycle of observation, assessment, planning and teaching to allow each individual child to develop at their own pace and learn the basic skills required to become life-long learners.

All learning is planned through themes and topics that change each half-term and cover all the areas of learning and development. Themes range from Forces and Recycling to Healthy Body, Healthy Me and Olympics. The children are well-cared for and nurtured in rich and stimulating environment, offered a broad variety of planned and play opportunities.
